Learn to Play the Piano

Hi, I’m Alex Shore and I work as a professional music teacher in Barnsley, Sheffield and the local area, providing piano lessons, music theory lessons and music production lessons to a countless number students.

I teach music lessons privately from my home in Birdwell, Barnsley where pupils are taught on a beautiful new acoustic Yamaha Upright Piano. Online tuition over Zoom is also available. Sessions are tailored to your individual requirements, with an aim to provide the highest quality of musical education, while maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere.

I teach all styles of music including classical, jazz, blues, rock, pop, electronic, as well as anything in between. Students have the opportunity of preparing for ABRSM and Rockschool exams with me should they wish, but I am equally happy to work with pupils who are not interested in taking exams and enjoy learning pieces for fun. I am a current a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate. 

Along with one-to-one teaching, I am the Technical Director for the online music school Music Matters, which provides a range of  video courses and music exam support materials to people interested in learning music, along with working as professional music producer and composer having released tracks and remixes on a number of leading electronic music labels.
